Mechanical Erection & Commissioning Engineer

The Mechanical Erection & Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for installation, erection, alignment, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems at project sites while ensuring safety, quality standards, and project timelines are maintained.
Responsibilities

- Erection & Installation
- Supervise erection and installation of mechanical equipment, piping (MS & SS), and structures.
- Execute erection and installation of MS & SS piping systems.
- Execute layout checking, equipment positioning, alignment, and levelling.
- Ensure erection activities as per approved drawings and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with civil and electrical teams for smooth project execution.
- Commissioning Activities
- Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Conduct equipment trial runs and performance testing.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during commissioning.
- Prepare commissioning reports and documentation.
- Project Coordination
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and site engineers.
- Monitor daily site progress and manpower deployment.
- Ensure work completion within scheduled timelines.
- Support project planning and execution activities.
- Quality & Safety
- Follow company safety policies and site safety procedures.
- Ensure quality standards during erection and commissioning work.
- Maintain inspection reports, checklists, and records.
- Documentation
- Review engineering drawings, GA drawings, P&ID, and fabrication drawings.
- Prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
- Maintain handover and completion documents.
Skills/Experience
Required Qualifications
- BE / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
- 2 – 6 years’ experience in mechanical erection & commissioning.
- Experience in industrial projects, plants, fabrication, or heavy equipment installation preferred.
